Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Series of Fighting veteran Melvin Guillard (35-12-2 no contests – 2 draws) has a new opponent. “The Young Assassin” will be fighting on the Bellator tentpole event on February 19th.
Guillard will take on Houston native Mike Bronzoulis (18-9-1 draw) in a lightweight bout on the card. “The Greek Assassin” Bronzoulis saw a three-fight win streak in Legacy Fighting Championships snapped after a submission loss to former Strikeforce lightweight champion and UFC contender Josh Thomson at Bellator 142 – Dynamite!! this past September.
Meanwhile, Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard left World Series of Fighting after a loss to lightweight champion Justin Gaethje that led to an acrimonious split from the promotion and lost his Bellator debut against Brandon Girtz by decision in late August in the main event of Bellator 141. Assassins will collide to do assassin things at Bellator 149, which will be live from the Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
The main event for his card is still Ken Shamrock vs Royce Gracie. In 2016. What a time to be alive.
