Earlier on Tuesday, the UFC announced more fights for their upcoming event on February 21st, including a bout between fan favorite Brandon Thatch and the returning Siyar Bahadurzada, which will be sure to please the noble yinzers.
Brandon “Rukus” Thatch made his UFC debut in August of 2013 with a TKO win over Justin Edwards followed by a body shot KO (knee) versus Paulo Thiago. Thatch is coming off of back-to-back submission losses at the hands of Ben Henderson and Gunnar Nelson.
Siyar “The Great” Bahadurzada made his UFC debut in April of 2012 by also defeating Thiago with a highlight-reel knockout (it’s been rough for him). Bahadurzada then lost back to back fights to Dong Hyun Kim and John Howard by decision in 2013. Siyar hasn’t fought since then due to a variety of factors including hand surgery, a back injury, illness and the dislocation of both shoulders. This will be Bahadurzada’s first fight in just over two years.
Six other bouts were also made official in the announcement. The first was Derek Brunson vs. Roan Carneiro, which we had previosly report. Along with that, we’ll see Joe Riggs vs. Chris Camozzi and Trevor Smith vs. Leonardo Augusto Guimares at 185, Shane Campbell vs. James Krause at 155, Anthony Hamilton vs. Shamil Abdurakhimov at heavyweight, and Sean Strickland vs. Alex Garcia at welterweight.
This event is expected to be broadcast on FS1 live from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA on February
