Amanda Nunes is making the media rounds and popping up in unexpected places.
The UFC women’s bantamweight champion was in New York and made a surprise appearance on the hit late night show Desus and Mero, impressing the hosts and showing off a bit of technique in the process.
As she stepped on set, she was celebrated as the woman that had recently defeated former champion Ronda Rousey, and wasn’t shy about what her feelings are regarding that fight.
Desus Nice: How did it feel, when that first initial… (mimes punch)
Amanda Nunes: I know… I, the first jab that I landed, I know right away she’s done.
She was then asked about the possibility of fighting Rousey again should the opportunity arise:
DN: If she wanted a rematch, would you fight her again?
AN: Oh, yeah. Sure.
DN: You’d beat her ass again?
AN: 100%
From there, she went on to demonstrate a rear naked choke setup to help train Mero, who as of late has expressed his desire to fight Ray Romano. It’s just as absurd as it sounds, but Nunes kept a great attitude during the whole thing and truly seemed to have enjoyed herself.
For someone that wasn’t given that much TV time and media space in the run-up to her last fight at UFC 207, it’s great to see her get this kind of exposure. Who knows where she’ll pop up next?
